GREETING
To all members of the Mongolian Association of Certified Translators and Interpreters and to the esteemed translators who have worked in the translation field at different times — respectful greetings to you all.
When The Mongolian Association of Certified Translators and Interpreters was first founded, a group of translators who valued and wanted to protect the Mongolian language and culture and who aimed to make official translation services accessible to the public came together. Today, however, it has grown into a large family that has united more than 2,000 translators. Along with this growth, many tasks await us besides protecting our members’ skills, ethics, and common interests — such as connecting members with one another and increasing their knowledge and experience. Members of The Mongolian Association of Certified Translators and Interpreters are recognized internationally and partner with many foreign and domestic organizations; they perform highly specialized translation work, including translation at the highest levels of state affairs, cross-border projects and programs, and work accepted in civil, criminal, and administrative court proceedings, under prosecutorial oversight, and in investigation and law-enforcement processes.
Translators enable people from different countries to understand one another, spread and connect cultures, and introduce people around the world to each other. Translation is a science and a form of knowledge that spans all areas of social life and has long served as a bridge connecting many nations. Translators should deeply understand and take responsibility for this role: their aspiration must be to translate any document, author’s ideas, and information accurately, faithfully, and without distortion or error.
As international relations, cooperation, and flows of information continue to increase, it is pleasing to note that our role and participation as translators are growing ever more important. I express my gratitude to all members and translators and wish you great success in your work and creative endeavors.
